A short blog spring blog with pics of a custom fairy, links to some Easter activities, and an Easter greeting from some cute little bunny fairies at the end...
Hello, I hope this finds you well and ready to enjoy some Easter festivities with family, friends and loved ones :-) I had a few different things planned for this month's blog post, including another fairy-craft video tutorial, but due to some unexpected family circumstances and various overlapping work projects, they are not quite there yet. I'm also now waiting for a few more sunny days to return and a few more flowers to be in bloom so that I might include them in the setting for the particular craft I have in mind...
In the meantime, this little custom fairy has recently found her new home. She's themed around the colour pink, as well as incorporating floral, vintage vibes with the handmade bows made using some upcycled vintage fabric.
Her skirt is made of wool and light pink organza petals, and she also holds two pink hand-felted hearts and has two vintage pink teardrop Swarovski crystals (these are no longer available for sale to the public/craft/DIY market - they can be found from re-sellers but can take some time to source). The pink resin rose was also requested and adds a lovely pop of contrasting bright pink to all the lighter pinks. I love adding bespoke details by request, and she was really a joy to make!
There are some Easter themed activities on this page if you fancy some crafting of your own... we're keeping things a bit more simple in our house this year, but we'll be using our homemade bunny ears for our egg hunt, and even though the children are older now, decorating a few blown eggs is still plenty of fun - especially as our collection of saved eggs (the ones that survived!) grows year on year...
We used Posca Paint Pens to decorate our eggs this year - they work soooo well on the eggs, making it easy to paint more detailed designs, and they are pretty mess-free too!
