A final round-up post of the year with fairies, fungi, cute things, and links to a creative 'Make Your Own Adorable Pocket Pets' craft tutorial.

Hello again - I hope this post finds you well and enjoying some cosy autumn days wrapped in colour and warmth as the season changes.

The fairies below flew the nest to the Museum in the Park, Stroud earlier in the autumn. Adorned with flowers, bows, felted and handcrafted organza skirts each one has a slightly different seasonal theme and atmosphere whilst also harmonising together as a little collection that I so enjoyed making.

I've also been busy working on new fairies for the autumn going into Christmas, preparing for more upcoming workshops and some custom fairy orders that are already taking shape. I'm excited to see them all come together, and it can feel like there aren't enough hours in the day, at times, especially now that we are into the darker months here in the Northern Hemisphere.

This lovely 'rainbow cloud' fairy, below, will be in the mix of fairies flying the nest soon... I usually post pictures some time after but since this will be the final update of this year, I couldn't resist including her now... she's so dreamy and the little kawaii cloud just lightens the mood :-)

In other news, it recently came to our attention that it had been five years since I started writing blogs and sharing craft tutorials for PowerWood over in their online Creative Corner. It's hard to think where those five years have gone, and for so many of us, how much our worlds have changed during that time. Crafting and making has been a constant compass in our house - directing us towards small doses of comfort, connection, and courage - as something we could hook into that was familiar and stable and would bring moments of lightness and fun.

These most recent posts on the PowerWood website celebrate those five years with a reflective blog looking back at some of the ideas shared over that time, and a cute little craft tutorial on how to make your own adorable pocket pets. It is inspired by one of my daughters' creations from her younger years - a cute little clay cat in a dinosaur onesie that sits on our living room shelf and makes me smile every time I look at it. With her permission, we extended this craft to make little pocket homes out of match boxes and some little friends to accompany her original.

One of my favourite things at this time of year is definitely going out on walks and spotting so many different types of fungi. It always feels joyful and exciting. Even if there are so many varieties and in reality quite abundant, spotting fungi in any form always to me, feels like I've found something elusive, precious and mysterious. They are so beautiful and strange and truly a wonder of nature. These pictures were taken on an outing with a friend to a local sculpture park where we had a wonderful soothing, calming walk among the trees and our magical fungi find felt like an added treat.

And then, of course it's that time of year again, and as this golden month of quiet enchantment draws to a close, perhaps it is officially not too early to mention Christmas!?

These super cute little kawaii Christmas trees will be making their way out into the world soon and I couldn't resist sharing a sneaky peak :-)

As we move into the final weeks of the year, wishing you plenty of peaceful cosying down days, as well many moments of creative connection, play and light as the festive season approaches.
